Last chance to get your 2023 start date
Extra openings on courses were released in February 2023 and the deadline to apply is fast approaching. Be aware that all applications received after 30th June 2023 will be entered in to clearing so it’s important to get them applications sorted ASAP. The closing date is the 4th July 2023.
Applying for university using UCAS
Its best to apply through the UCAS Hub this will allow you to start, continue and track your application. Selecting up to 5 courses at different universities, you can only apply once in a cycle. The service is chargeable. It costs £22.50 for a single choice or £27 for more than one choice.
Before the deadline you will need to have:
- filled in all the details, qualifications and courses selected
- written your personal statement
- included a written reference from a teacher or professional who knows you academically
- paid the UCAS application fee.
Getting offers
If your set up in the UCAS hub you should get an email about offers. There are four types of offers.
Conditional – you will still need to meet the entry requirements, typically you’re a-Level results.
Unconditional –Allocated a place on a course, but a few things may still need to be arranged. For example, DBS check, provide proof of qualifications or meet other medical or financial requirements.
Unsuccessful – The university has made the decision not to offer a place on their course. You may or may not be given a reason.
Withdrawn – Either you or the university chooses to withdraw a course choice. In these circumstances, you should receive an explanation from the university through UCAS.
The university might not offer and simple invite you for an interview or an audition. UCAS will inform you of this.
Once all your UCAS offers are in you will have to make a decision and respond before the deadline You can pick a firm choice which would be your preferred option, select a back up option of your firm choice is conditional and you can decline offers. Declining all offers is an option and adding more courses through the UCAS Extra Service.
Any conditional offer on a course will be updated by the university once they have received your grads/exam results. After being firmly accepted by a university you will received details from the institution about what to do next.
