Selfcare for Graduates – Keep sane and carry on
Grad Self-Care is important let us share our tips – Whether you’re a business owner or out of work, here are some tips for how you can keep sane and carry on during second lockdown.
Set a routine
This may sound like a fairly simple tip, but it is really effective. Setting a time to wake up, work, do chores, exercise, relax, and go to bed can really help you to feel more normal. It doesn’t need to be strictly regimented, just enough to add some consistency to your life
Emphasise health
Experience from the first lockdown showed that falling into an unhealthy cycle of eating junk and not exercising is a lot easier than we thought. One way this lockdown can be different is by focusing on healthy foods. Foods that will make you feel physically and mentally better. Of course it’s okay to indulge now and then, but try to use this extra time to experiment with new healthy recipes. Not only is it good for you, but it can be fun too!
Get moving
There are so many free online videos and home workouts available to us to cater to every need. Doing exercise can make you feel physically and mentally better. Even something as small as a walk around the block will help to clear your head and get some fresh air.
Stay Connected
If you’re at home with family schedule in some family game nights. If you’re home alone Zoom video chats with your friends is a great way to keep connected. It’s important to remember we’re all in this together so taking your mind off the situation with some fun cant go a miss.
Prioritise selfcare
Remember to do things that make you happy. It might be watching favourite films, cooking delicious foods, listening to favourite music, do whatever you can to make yourself feel good!
Remember, it won’t last forever. We’ll get there.
