Roles & Responsibilities

Love and thrive creating visual content? Inquisitive about the world of shopper? Able to support Senior Designers, Creative Leads and Creative Directors to realise their visions through the creation of well-designed visual content? Familiar with Adobe CS, but also not afraid of a pen and paper? Digitally savvy? Like the idea of working on some enviable accounts in a dedicated creative team?

Joining a rotation scheme within the design departments is the perfect path for any graduate fascinated by creating visuals and what keeps our world turning and developing. Your choice of degree may have recognised this, or perhaps you are coming from another background, the sort that is more instinctual but your common goal is to have a career within the world of design. In any case, this opportunity will give you real-world introduction to the industry, and a chance to gain valuable knowledge and skills.

This opportunity focuses on providing hands-on training in your area of specialism, supported by industry professionals with years and years of experience to share, giving you plenty of time to learn on the job, apply your knowledge and showcase your talent.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting senior designers, creative leads, and creative directors in creating visual content
  • Communicating effectively and contributing to the creative process.
  • Input to creative meetings and sharing ideas
  • Collaborating on projects and contributing to design concepts
  • Learning design software and industry trends
  • Visual crafting from direction given by Seniors, Leads, & Directors
  • Design brand communications for shopper / retail
  • Development & adaptation of visual content across digital and print media
  • Deliver graphic design & presentation projects against planned timelines and briefs
  • Asset Management: Ensure logical navigation of the project assets you use, acquire, and create through digital housekeeping process

Skills Required

Requirements (although much of this would be developed within your role)

  • Degree – creative field
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Rough / loose internal sketching to map out your intended response (not for presentation)
  • Knowing your way around a Mac
  • Familiar with designing for Print
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Digitally savvy: Experience of creating content for web and social media
  • Illustration (Vector or other medium)
  • Graphic comms through Mac & Adobe CS experience
  • Layout, Deck Design, Presentation Design & Typographic finesse
  • Image manipulation
  • Note taking – listening – effectively communicating

Nice to haves

  • More proficient hand drawn skills most welcome
  • Graphic animation through After Effects or 3D or motion graphics
  • Experience of Ai within design
  • Copy writing skills

HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

To start with based in the office and then progressing to 2 days in the office and three from home.

HOLIDAY: 28 days holiday (210 hours) plus 8 bank holidays plus your birthday off.

First stage: Online interview with The Graduate

Second stage: Graduate Assessment Day (Northampton Office)

2nd June 2025 – 9am – 4:30pm
